Deadlines and Dead Ends in Days of My Destiny

My To Do List, with comments explaining the dead ends.....
Passports - need to organize. Must apply for Little L. Can renew L's and Little M's as they are recently expired. Mine is recently expired too, but because it's in my maiden name, I actually have to apply for a whole new one. In order to do this, I need my birth certificate. I don't know where it is, I have lost it along the way. Therefore need to apply for a birth certificate. Will cost extra, turnaround is 5 weeks. Feeling pressure as I am travelling in 8.
Intimo Party - This Friday. Need to buy appropriate catering food for guests. Did the groceries yesterday, Intimo completely skipped my mind. Now need to find money from nowhere to buy extra food. I promised wine. Need to follow up on some RSVPs but am unable to right now due to crappy internet.
Form for Presidency - Was given two forms to complete. I thought I was being organized, but stupidly assumed they were two copies of the same form. Handed one form in today after going to library to certify copy of my licence, only to be told that indeed I need to fill out the other form too because it is actually different to the first form. Had no time to return to library as I had to pick up the children from respective schools. I had certified one extra copy of my license just for my own records, so that's good, because as it turns out I will need it for this second form. However I still need a certified copy of my marriage certificate for the second form, so still need to return to library, which is 40kms away. Will not be back there until next week. These forms should have been finalized by last week.
Police Check Online - as part of my status as President. Need certified copy of my license for this also. So even if I didn't need a certified copy of my marriage certificate for the above, I would STILL need to return to the library to certify yet another copy of my license.
Till for Drovers Campfire - Figured out how to change some items on the cash register. Photocopied the old sheet with old prices on it, whited it all out and made a newer, fresher looking one. It looks great. Decided to start changing prices. Cash register decided to not only run out of ink, but also run low on memory. I had read somewhere in the 200-page manual (literally it is 200 pages - I've only read 36) that the memory can run low. Cash register now won't let me do anything. Will need to contact the President of the committee who probably won't believe that this dead end has got nothing to do with me (he's in his 70s). Will need to contact somebody somewhere for technical help with this, which will obviously incur costs that the committee would have to pay for. Fuck.
MC Roster for Drovers Campfire - Need to come up with an MC Roster. There are 4 ladies (including myself) that are happy to help out with making announcements over the course of the 5-day event. Ladies A, B, C and D. I am Lady A. We were waiting to hear back from Lady B as to what her preferences are, because she has thousands of kids and we decided we could work around her. In the end, she wants to be the one to simply fill in gaps where needed. My job is to come up with the roster. Easier said than done. There are clashes with our availability. Emailed Lady C to see if her and I could get together in person over the next few days to really work this out. I don't have any contact details for Lady D, so will see what happens there.
These are all the jobs I tried to get done this afternoon. Have been sitting at the computer or somewhere on my butt since 4pm this afternoon. It is now 10pm and I'm sitting here, writing about all the dead ends I came to with every single item.
Still, there is more on the to do list that I haven't even been able to touch on yet: - iPad for Drovers Campfire (create document for data records) - Open Colleges (get on with my course!) - Policies: read and approve for committee - CCSA website: familiarise yourself - Communications procedure for committee: create in collaboration with ex President
Tonight I also received an email from one of the Drovers ladies, asking me to review a document she has found stored somewhere and updated. I decided to do that, and in that process had to email some other guy who THANKFULLY emailed back tonight so I could get on with that. That's about the only thing that went right today.
ALL of these things are urgent with deadlines that are all within this coming month, for whatever reason that may be. Drovers Campfire items, well the event is in 3 weeks. President stuff, well that's urgent for legal reasons. Travel documents, well that's urgent, I'm travelling really soon.
This is just insane. Just. Insane. I certainly did not expect to run into so many hurdles with every single thing. What the hell.
Other little things I did: - Messaged Janet to let her know she won't need to babysit M on Friday afternoon, as the meeting I was going to attend (the one where I meet and liaise with the local MP - how cool would that look on my CV!) was changed to 10:30 instead of after-school hours. As it turns out, I won't be attending this meeting after all, as I am going to prioritise Mainly Music with Little L (which is on Fridays at 10am). Besides I'm taking one of her little friends with us this week as a babysitting favour for a friend, so I'm kind of already committed anyway. - Messaged Sally to let her know I won't be at the meeting with the local MP after all - Filled in forms for committee stuff, now awaiting to certify documents asap - Emailed Vice President to let her know the dates she will need to be Acting President while I am overseas
So I suppose some things DID go right today. Ahhhh. There's ALWAYS a positive. Somewhere in there. Lol.
