Franchises, depending which/where you're located... can be very difficult. Reporting to others still. Rules to be followed, not allowed to start tweaking and doing different things. Like any business, high costs and fees... But the rules thing can be a real tricky thing. You want to do something to promote the business or try out a new product related to what you sell? ....NOPE. Not allowed. They want you to start doing X Y Z but you really don't think it's a good idea... too bad. It's tricky!
What's good with a franchise is it is already established, the brand, place... it's familiar to people right? At least a bit if not found all over the place. People (for the most part) would already know what to expect. You'd get clients/customers based just on that, once new location is known to them that is, but of course still would have to put in a lot of work to continue to get more/keep people coming.
