Probably the best film i’ve seen this year, i had a feeling it would be.
Kelly Reichardt, the director, is not from Portland- but lives here- and has made several films based in Oregon (Meek’s Cutoff, Wendy and Lucy).
This film is about a friendship between two men at a rural PNW fort in the early 1800’s. The start a business venture that is very popular, but at the precipice of ruin from the beginning due to one of the ingredients- milk. The milk is stolen each night from the first cow ever in the region, owned by the governor of the fort.
Originally due to come out in limited release in March, COVID delayed that, but now you can find it streaming. I highly recommend this film.
