So...Dr. today... UPDATED in General musings

Weird thing happened...the fibroid which has nestled so neatly under my rib cage for the past few years is...gone? It was a sizable lump, visible through my skin and certainly there if you ran your fingers over it. F felt it a few weeks ago (Hubby, even if he ever touched me, would not feel that...made him queasy) but oh, maybe 3 days ago, I noticed it just wasn't there anymore. So, called the dr. and I guess she thinks that could be serious because she is seeing me TODAY. This was an abdominal one..on a "stalk" they tell me, and I suppose the worry is that it has fallen off and in...into my abdomen where it could go gangrenous, so..Dr...ultrasound probably, then maybe across the street to the hospital?

So Dr. examines me, says she thinks the fibroid has just shifted, like behind other organs, says if it had fallen into abdomen, we'd know it by now...excruciating pain, bloating, etc. So...she is just sending me for my bi-annual ultrasound on Monday. I did tell her I was having sex for the first time in over five years; F wanted to know if it was his "fault" the thing moved, but she didn't think so.
