Fade to Black. in Open Diary.

As a teenager, I didn’t like my dad much. So, I picked three heroes to model myself by. In no order, Weird Al, Fonzie, and Spock. Weird Al is a comical, creative human. Fonzie is feared, yet never hits anyone. Spock is logical, and intelligent.

Been meditating on who my current heroes are now. Is it Bernie Sanders? Is it AOC? Is it Jon Stewart? I’m not sure. But I do know James Hetfield makes the list. Lyrics. Rhythm guitar. Lead guitar. Hair. Having the bravery to enter rehab twice.

He could have died. Lost it all. But no. James Hetfield found a way to keep going. He lost his mom at a young age. He lost a bandmember in his twenties. He burned his hand touring, and kept going.

I don’t know what to contribute to this world. But, I will try. Like Papa Hetfield.
