Yesterday I went with The Young Buck on our last hike together before he moves to Ohio. He is leaving Monday, and I AM SOOOO SAD. I’m trying to not let it hit me until Monday. He’s actually going to the 7am kickboxing class tomorrow before he sets off. So I’m going to that class as well, and that will be the last time I see him unless I visit him in Ohio or he comes back here to visit.

Our hike yesterday was lovely. It was to a lake in the Alpine Wilderness area of Wenatchee National Forest called Colchuck Lake. I’ve been wanted to visit this lake, but its a 3.5 hour drive away (one way), so there’s been closer hikes I’ve been hitting up instead.

I am absolutely in love with the PNW. I so wish The Young Buck wasn’t moving away. We got some really good pictures together. I’m exhausted. We had such a great day together. The hike is 8 miles round trip and I think a max elevation of 5,580 feet. Afterwards we had a “to-go” picnic at a local restaurant. The hike is in a small town that is Bavarian themed and super adorable. That town/county is still in Phase 1 reopening, so indoor dining is still not allowed in any capacity. We placed an online order for our post-hike celebratory meal and then ate outside with alpine mountains as our back drop. It was truly an amazing day. I can’t believe he’s actually going and that I caught the feels.
