Star Wars in Open Diary.

Despite having a Starfleet Delta (tattoo) above my left hip, akin to Kirk’s green wrap-around uniform, I do know some things about this War of the Stars thing. I’m a nerd. But, also a geek. And there IS a difference.

I used to like the machete order for watching Star Wars. Makes sense, in a way. Relate with whinyboy, discover the big baddy is his daddy. Then go back and learn who Anakin really was and how he fell. Then watch Return of the Jedi, and Anakin’s redemption makes more sense.

For a n00b, okay. Or even a veteran “quick” watch-through. There is just one thing that has shifted me. Okay, not one. But, in a word:

Kenobi.

If you haven’t seen the Jamie Costa fan-film on youtube, my goodness, you have missed out. I fell asleep to “A New Hope” as a kid, but gosh, this Kenobi is so engaging. While not made by Mickey Mouse, I mentally accept this as canon. What WAS Kenobi doing while watching Luke? Which brings me to Ahsoka Tano.

Ahsoka’s arc with Anakin helps explain how Ani-banani fell in Episode III. Movie recommendations are easy. Asking someone to endure hours of an (entertaining) series is not marathonable. It is Ahsoka’s arc at the late end of Season Five of Clone Wars. Spoiler alert. Ahem. Whatever, been out for a while. Ahsoka says to Anakin how she wants to leave the Jedi Order. And Anakin says, “I know how you feel.”

I should get to my “sequence”.

Clone Wars season V

IV, V, VI

Done.

What?

There’s a sequel trilogy?

In short, if Rey had given Luke a goddamn Mickey pep talk to get his confidence back, told him “Accept who you are on the inside, and how inspired people will be when you walk into a room as Jedi Master”, done a Rocky montage with him while they both train their Jedi powers, and then Actual Luke faced down the First Order using a Force Shield to block everything, as of course he would have convened with Yoda and Obi-Wan to learn how to protect his friends, then reached out with his hands and crushed the knees of the AT-ATs, which would piss of Kylo Ren, which of course makes him want to lightsaber him, but Luke simply sits calm and uses the Force to guide Kylo’s hand constantly around him to never allow him a hit and then Kylo runs away with rage and disgust, and after a long sigh Anakin’s force-ghost convening with him afterwards to tell Luke that he his proud of him.

Because Anakin wanted to protect people.

Okay, maybe not short.

Bananas are a good source of potassium, K?
