January 14, 1975

I wanted to mark a day that changed my life. Our next-door neighbors, the Angelils, convinced Ma to come with them to the first Tuesday night prayer meeting at Church A, which was called St. Luke...

The Rest of My Life

Since the last time I wrote, I find myself making plans for the rest of my life. It seems premature at age 53, but I'm not talking about retirement. I'm talking about setting my priorities. In ...

One car, two drivers

Brian got his driver's license back today, and I put him on the car insurance. Just like that, a process that took less than 15 minutes with an appointment - the DMV ain't what it used to be. J...

I dreamed that I was among those who moved part of the Phat Network (what I call my co-workers) up north, to a farm that we would work for additional income. My dad was with us, a former farmer;...

A sad anniversary

The day Yoshi died was the worst day of my life, second only to the night I learned of my brother Yakko’s suicide – worse, even, than when my own mother died, for she had been conscious until the...

The cats

I love cats. I don't just love cats, I LOVE cats. When Brian and I decided that we would not have children, we decided that we would devote our lives to cats. So here they are: (EDIT: Proseb...

More analysis

Nearly half a million people had diaries on OD. We were blogging before the word was even invented. Everyone I knew is moving to Prosebox. I hope that it is up to the task of re-homing so many...

Book Description

I’m joining the mass exodus from OD to this spot. 14 years of my life’s history - together with memories and recollections of the 39 years before it - was on that site and is now safely downloaded to my computer. This is a new beginning for hundreds, thousands, of us; and I’m just going to pick up where I left off.

My OD name was originally Lightbulb. I changed it to Galaga in 2006 when the name Lightbulb turned sour for me. Y’all can call me Galaga, G, my true given first name Donna, or D./Dee.

I change the title of my diary every year on my birthday - sometimes on my half-birthday - and I had just changed it to “The Heart Chakra,” a concept which is becoming increasingly more important to me as I advance in age.

Stats: 53 years old. Location: Tampa Bay, Florida. Graduated in 1993 with an A.S. in paralegal studies from a private college. Married since 1994 (Brian); no kids; 9 cats making up the Royal Household of the Thundercats of Tampa, located at Tara House, Free State of Galaga. Aunt to three by blood, five by marriage, and two by affection, all of whom are pseudonymed. Great-aunt to one by marriage, likewise. I am a badass legal secretary with a firm I call the Phat Network.

I look forward to getting to know y’all.
