Bedtime Prayer in Most Poetry Sucks

Now as I lay me down to rest,
I pray the world will soon be blest.
And if I die before I wake,
I pray not my regrets to take.

If I have failed to offer some cheer,
From lack of heart, or listening ear –
If I’ve overlooked your needs some way,
I pray for a tomorrow unlike today.

If You would just teach me how,
Then I’ll be Love’s open door.
There is no limit to it –
So please, let me Love more!

Teach me, I pray,
Your new song to sing –
And the lesson of Harmony
It brings.

Water can ripple from
A single stone.
Do let me pray this prayer alone.
