CELEBRATION in LIFE OF A D.O.M. WIDOWER LIVING ON THE NJ SHORE

 Last night 8  of us had dinner before the AA Anniversary meeting of my Home Group. Myself, Rob my youngest son, Joe B my sponsor and John my sponcee were there. Diana, Doris, Lynn and Margaret all AA Women also were  there. We had a great time with joking and talking and getting to know each other. In received four gifts from my friends ranging from flowers to an engraved keychain. I also received 6 cards. I was grinning like a cat that has swallowed a canary.
    I had a bigger surprise when we arrived at the meeting. Another 12 people had come just to wish me well. Add that to the fact there were 6 other celebrants there as well. In my group they use a word I had never heard elsewhere ,anniversarian.  Most likely it is a made up word.
   It was a very nice ceremony   and really demonstrated that the program of AA works.
   There was a man in the audience who will celebrate later in the Month 60nyears of sobriety.  That is just awe inspiring . He is still active and goes to a lot of meetings.  God Bless Him !!
