from Southern California. We’ve been here for 9 days already enjoying being with sister Charlotte. The weather is not as warm as we were hoping for, but it’s much better than Denver’s this week. 100% chance of rain today and tomorrow here. We are gathering at nephew Paul’s house with several members of Charlotte’s family, including her great grandson, 9-month old Jude. There will be a houseful and we were all hoping for good weather so we could spread out onto his lovely deck and beautiful backyard, but that doesn’t look like it will happen. Oh, well. That improves the chances of getting better acquainted with the newer members of the family. :) A new wife and step-daughter have joined the family this year and there is another baby boy just days away… and a new boyfriend for one of Charlotte’s granddaughters. (We did meet him Sunday when we visited them at their home. Very nice man.)
I paid for the turkey that Paul is preparing. Others will furnish the rest of the dinner. Paul’s lovely wife Sandy is recovering from recent surgery, but really wanted to host this gathering. I hope it doesn’t cause her too much stress....
If you are traveling to be with family or friends, please, please be safe. And be thankful for each minute you can spend with your loved ones.
