All caught up! (sort of) in Life in General

So I’m technically all caught up on editing! (minus the wedding I just imported from Saturday). This loupedeck thing I bought is seriously a lifesaver. It has made my editing so much easier so I’m actually able to edit within a reasonable amount of time. Before, if I did nothing but edit, it would take me a solid 3 days to edit a wedding. Now, I can knock it out in about a day.

However, it’s a lot of mental stress to do it that quickly, so I’ll probably still do it in about 3 days, but I’ll be able to email, text, schedule, account and all of the other stuff with way less stress.

Speaking of accounting, I have a little financial venting to do. As you may or may not know, my sister was in the hospital in the summer of 2017, so doing my taxes that year were pretty low on my priority list and I spent a lot of money on hotels and food while I was near the hospital. By the time all of that passed, I was pretty broke and couldn’t afford to hire a CPA or anything to handle my business accounting. So I decided to just ignore and deal with it later. But then the beginning of 2018 was super rough for me financially. I nearly called it quits on the entire photography thing and was prepared to just find a job actually using my chem degree haha.

But I finally started figuring things out towards the end of 2018 and was finally in a spot mid 2019 where I could afford to hire a CPA. So I’ve gotten all of that taken care of, but now that I’ve filed both 2017 and 2018 income taxes, the amount I owe is… extraordinary. I could buy a new car for the amount they want and it’s kind of crazy. I mean, I have no choice but to pay it, but as little money as I made both of those years, it seems kind of high. Luckily things are going better now so I’ll be able to pay it down somewhat quickly, but it’s still crazy to me.

Anyway, that’s all I got for you all. I need to get out there and market like crazy so I can get some more brides to hire me and pay the IRS off haha. Talk to you soon!
