Cold Weather in Life After 60

Okay, maybe this is a stretch, but I know that without the cold weather and I mean below freezing the germs and insects would kill us. In my part of the country rocky mountain or spotted ticks are terrible in the spring and summer. Then winter comes along and drives them underground for a while. And germs, just like the hospital that keeps their rooms at 62 degrees year-round and have you strip down to almost nothing and give you that gown that never ties in the back as it should, do not grow in cold weather. Except for the flu bug. That sucker is immune to almost anything. But then the last time I had the flue was in March when the weather was starting to warm a little.
So for the health and well being of some, we need the cold, for others, it means bouts with Pneumonia. Check on the elderly as they are more susceptible to sickness during this time of year. Have a great day.
