Phalanges in Life After 60

Mr. Amie is a pleasant 71-year male who presents today with chief complaint of pain in the distal joint of 3rd phalanges of right hand. Pt states nki, acute pain began three days ago.....
Ah yes, the stuff only medical professionals see and understand. I always questioned why can I not just say, Mr. Amie’s middle finger on his right-hand hurts? Rx Tylenol #3 30 tab tib for pain. Say what?
I am thankful for my phalanges. Without them, it would be hard for me to do my job. And my hobby of playing much would be much harder. It is amazing the things we take for granted. Let me break one of those suckers and life becomes difficult. And when I do break one, I am thankful for pain meds!!
