I try to avoid the topic of politics and religion online but this latest news from Facebook about Russian and Ukrainian Election Interference baffles me. So, followers, I am going to once again open up the phone lines for your take on this.
The way the media outlets make it sound, the Russians and Ukrainians were able to influence our votes using social media such as Facebook. (Okay, sidebar here, just because it is on Facebook doesn’t mean it is true!!!) Have American’s sunk so low that we let social media determine our vote? I think not. But then, I am concerned about the 16-25-year-old voters out there who, IMNSHO, (Learned that from reader!!!) are totally clueless to how our government was designed to work.
Did Facebook influence me on whether I voted for Clinton or Trump? No. Give me a female candidate who supports the Constitution and will represent me, and she has my vote! Seriously the men have done a terrible job in the last 2020 years, let’s give the women a chance. But I will not vote for a woman based on the fact she is a female.
So let’s go to the phone lines. Caller, you are on the air. My question is Where you influenced by social media as to who you voted for? And if so, how? We will be right back after this message from our sponsors, The Russian Tourism Department!!!

I don't know if I was influenced to vote for Clinton via social media or not. I remember some really effective anti-Trump commercials on Twitter - including one in which young girls watched themselves in a mirror while the sound track played negative to female comments by Trump, mostly related to a woman's value being determined by her appearance.
I have been a Democrat since I was 6 yrs old and have been a Clinton supporter since her first run for President against Obama so it would have taken a lot to change my mind.
Speaking for other people? Well I guess I can't do that.

That is why I find it so baffling why the New Media and Congress think Facebook could change a voters mind. But then we are dealing with educated lawyers...LOL

Thing about politics online is that I lose respect for friends who feel differently than I do. And then I lose their friendship. I really hate it when that happens. I wish we had a way of being true to ourselves without being so harsh on others.

I will step out on a limb here and say, a true friend will not leave or unfriend you over your political views. That is so schoolyard playground, IMNSHO!

I have watched Mrs Clinton since she was 1st lady. Heard from some in Arkansas about them when he was governor. It is the Clinton's themselves that convinced me that I could never vote for her. And with all that has happened since Trump was elected I don't think I could ever vote Democrat again. For any position. Actually I did vote for a Democrat to be our sheriff. But for a legislator or president. No way. And the Russians have nothing to do with it. It is the actions of the Democrats themselves that make me not trust them in any way, shape or form.

I lived in Arkansas during the Clinton years and every bad thing you heard was true. But I voted for Bill to get him out of Arkansas...LOL! I will admit the Democrats have really screwed themselves but the younger generation thinks they are the greatest hope for America.
