The fatigue from the first round of chemo seems to be pretty much gone. It wasn't that bad, especially as I didn't really have anything I had to do, so I could just randomly fall asleep whenever I wanted to. Now that I'm not quite as sleepy and have a greater attention span, I'm starting to get a little antsy. Luckily it's been getting nicer out so I've been taking some short walks around the block. I can't wait until it's actually spring and I can lounge and read outside!
One of the non-crappy things about having cancer is that I'm supposed to eat whatever I want and as much as I want to avoid weight loss from chemo and such. Mom and Aaron have taken this to heart and have been cooking me some incredibly delicious, rich meals. In addition to that, one of the IV antinausea drugs they gave me during chemo was a corticosteroid, so it made me ravenously hungry for a few days, so I've been eating a lot. They've made me an alfredo dish, lasagna, pancakes, french toast, a giant steak...so much yummy food! By the time I'm done with all of this, I'll have gained 20 pounds :P
I've been working on medical leave of absence stuff for school. The folks in the Student Affairs office have been so helpful and supportive. They've been helping me get in contact with everyone I need to talk to. It's a tedious process but it's nice having someone else keeping track of details for me. I can't remember if I've written about this yet, but, if everything goes as planned treatment-wise, I'll be joining the class of 2016 (my class is 2015) spring semester 2015 to finish up classes I was unable to complete this semester. and do clinical rotations with them. It's frustrating, since I've worked so hard to get where I am. Blerg. But I'll try to have some fun during this time off and, once I've figured things out and gotten into a routine, I'll work on reviewing material so I don't forget too much during my school hiatus.
I think it's time for lunch and then maybe a walk. It's so weird having all this time on my hands.
