The handyman and the landlord came over at nine to look at the oven and the bathroom window (which didn't have a winder and didn't work...) and while they were here I told them that the other toilet has a small leak and they (hopefully) fixed it, and I got them to fix the closet door. They have to order parts for the window and the oven, but hopefully everything will be in proper working order by Friday.
After they left I went to work with John down in West Palm Beach. The bank there is one short block from the water, so I sat on a shady bench under a palm and enjoyed the magnificent Florida spring weather while he did his job... then we went to BrandsMart and bought our new chest freezer. We could have got it at Walmart for a few dollars less, but Brandsmart delivers for a reasonable fee. It should be here on Wednesday, so on the weekend we'll be able to stock up on meat and have some place to put it. He also bought me a super early birthday present - a cute little Canon powershot Elph that was on sale. I've wanted a new pocket-sized camera for ages but I considered it a luxury and didn't really look into it. We were going to go up to Vero Beach to look at one of the adult tricycles I found on Craigs List but John was tired and it's a long way to drive at the end of the day, so we let it go... I'll keep looking and hopefully find something closer to home. There was one in Port St Lucie but they'd already sold it when John called. He agrees I need wheels and he thinks I should have a tricycle because it's safer and easier to ride than a bike. He doesn't want me to try to ride a two-wheeler... I'm pretty sure I'd be fine because my balance is okay, it's my endurance that's shot, and there isn't anything remotely resembling a 'hill' in this part of Florida, but whatever makes him happy. You can load more 'stuff' onto a tricycle because it has a baskets front and back. We just have to keep looking until we find one we can afford...
