Hello, All!

I think I'm getting the hang of those Prosebox thing. I feel like I come here often and start to write something then get bored and X out. I guess what I have to say bores myself so I won't take you down with me.

I've been in a been of a rut lately with friends/work/my mom... Things have just been pissing me off! It's all pretty minimal but, it's still enough to irritate me/make me negative. But, something happened last Friday to kinda put things in perspective for me.

Danny and I were driving to Houston to surprise his dad for his birthday Friday after work. Danny's eyes are bad at night so I usually offer to drive. We were 20 minutes away, the last 3 hours I was bitching about my mom showering my little sister with money and gifts (preggo one) and whining about my friends never inviting me to do things.

Out of the middle of nowhere, a car crossed 3 lanes and t-boned Danny's car, going at least 65 miles per hour. Naturally, the car started to go right, I somehow had the instinct to correct it left, back to my lane. Since we were going so fast, the car started to flip but luckily, it was corrected by the guardrail where we hit it head-on going at least 60mph.

I remember the whole accident now but, seconds after it happened, I guess I was just sitting there in shock for long enough to have everyone else get of their cars. I just kept envisioning another car slamming into us. TERRIFYING. Well, I finally gain my composure and go out the passenger door, because my door was jammed. The car that hit us, was sitting on its hood. IT FLIPPED! At this point I had just assumed this was my fault so I nearly passed out and thought someone had to be dead in there. Luckily, there wasn't and this wreck was not my fault.

The wreck shut down HI 45 for 20 minutes. If you know anything about Texas HWYs, you know 45 is a big one. When we finally got pulled off the hwy, there were 5 other cars I didn't see in the wreck before. So now my phone is being blown up with insurance people asking for my statement. Which is odd because we only got hit by one car, then guardrail.

Moral of the story is, I need to slow it down and be grateful! I called my mom a few minutes after and I cried and cried. We haven't been on the best of terms but obviously, I love her. And I decided, instead of resenting her for the favoritism she gives to Courtney, be grateful that she's my mother and that she loves me, even though she doesn't express it a lot of the time. I could help on that part too. Instead of avoiding her 100%.

Same goes for friends. No need to be negative and though I feel left out lately, it's something I can focus on, too. This has been bothering me for weeks leading up to the accident and it made me avoid/resent them too. I all the sudden feel so very lucky, and we're not on this planet long enough to play games with loved ones.

Went to the doctor yesterday. I have whiplash and a slight concussion. They did x-rays on my neck (btw, the neck and skull is mega creepy) and got a call saying everything looks good! I'm not a big religious person but seriously, praise the good Lord for looking over us. Church Sunday, for sure. Danny thinks it'll be a good idea. Who knows, maybe I'll like it and see the light or something? Danny feels fine but never went, I wish he would though, just in case. Stubborn boys.

OH! And on the drive home on Sunday, we drive into a damn ice storm! Since we nearly got ourselves killed on hwy 45 2 days ago, I demanded we get a hotel. My dad being the most amazing man I know, booked us one on Hotwire in some po-dunk town called Fairfield. Glad he did because people were sleeping in their cars, stuck on the hwy. NO THANK YOU! The next afternoon was still bad, saw a lot of cars in ditches and took an hour and a half to go 5 miles. But nothing like if we didn't stay in a hotel. THANKS DAD :)

Anyway, Danny and I went to SF last month to visit my sister and some friends I met when I lived there. We both had a really great time. I miss San Francisco so friggin' much. I'm convinced it's the best city in the world!! If only it was affordable... I got to see my not so little anymore cousins and taste some wine enter image description here

Sight see with my sister enter image description here

Sight see and ride bikes over the Golden Gate with my boyfriend enter image description here

Day drink in my favorite park, Dolores, with friends :) enter image description here

And much, much more. Take me baaaack!

I hope everyone has been doing well, I'll try and update and read more, I promise <3

Amanda
