Regarding my last entry, I've sent my thoughts to my theoretical physicist friend. If he agrees with me I'm clearly a genius. If he doesn't I'll take up poetry or something.
Things have gone hyper wrong at work today. It's nothing to do with me, but there is a lot of bad language, pointy fingers, and strokey beard meetings.
I went to a children's party this weekend. The boy was invited by the mother of one of his swimming lesson friends. I don't get involved in his swimming lessons, so I didn't know the friend. I drove him to the party on Saturday afternoon, with the dragon. I had no idea his friend was from a Caribbean family. And, while I am familiar with parties thrown by Asian families, I've never been to a party with a Caribbean theme. It was quite an experience.
There was loud music, provided by a cool looking DJ. It was music I can't really pigeon-hole, but it was somewhere between reggae and calypso. Not my sort of thing, but fun. I felt very white, but it was interesting to note that the kids seemed to mix much more easily than the adults. I'd never met the family, but it was a super friendly atmosphere and there was so much food, all cooked by the mother of the birthday girl. Incidentally, she looked like a circa 1965 Aretha Franklin, and wore a violent yellow dress. There were a lot of colourful clothes. It was a lot of fun.
I spent most of yesterday hammering new fence posts in at the allotment. I still need to put new wire round and build a gate. I thought there would be loads of people there since it was such a nice day, but actually there weren't many. I don't like it when there are loads of people there.
I think the World Naked Bike Ride must have happened over the weekend in the southern hemisphere. We have to wait for June for hours. I'm planning to join the London ride again this year. They haven't fixed a date, but historically it's always been the second Saturday in June, and that's going to be 14th this year. I want to buy a new bike.
The missing Malaysia Air Boeing 777 is getting like Lost. Some people are reporting passengers' cell phones being on-line. I personally doubt it, but it makes for a good story. I don't like plane crash stories and I have a flight booked over that area next month.
An imaginative student at a Plymouth beer festival has secured her 15 minutes of fame by removing her top and lying with her naked bosoms pressed against the glass roof of the Student Union building at Plymouth University. The unnamed young woman did not appear to provide a reason for the stunt, but told the student newspaper that other women might now think twice about walking across the same roof in a skirt. See, that's how students should be.
