Does the ankle resent the legs,
for taking it to the movies?
Is it sitting there, bored while
the head, neck, shoulders,
even that dumb bouffant of hair,
bear witness to the lion that
Darth Vader’s voice is coming out of?
The eyes could read body language, but are ignoring the way
that ankle shakes poor left foot restlessly, propped up
on a long suffering knee.
And what do the other parts think of the ankle?
They too are missing the movie, but
does ankle annoy them for carrying on about it?
Can they still appreciate,
the way that ankle skips them all down the road?
