The Night Before in What We See, What We Do, What We Feel

Today, I swore in as a certified Law Enforcement Officer, and I won $400 in a scratch off lottery ticket (What. A. Day). Tomorrow, I begin my first day in Field Training at 6am, bright and early.

The excitement is building, so much so I may be unable to sleep, but I’m going to do my absolute best. I am positive I will need the rest. Along with my excitement comes a slight creep of nervousness, but the good kind. The kind of nervousness you get when you know a great new adventure full of unknowns will begin. Tomorrow morning will be a different type of morning.

Tomorrow morning will be a morning experienced by few, but embarked upon by many great people who have come before me. Tomorrow morning my wake-up routine will include putting on a light but heat-trapping bullet-proof vest, spark checking a Taser, and last but not least, making sure my sidearm is loaded and ready to perform; God-Willing it does not come to that.

Tomorrow morning begins a new adventure, and I am more than ready to embark on it.
