There are times when Homo sapiens give me a headache. The tendency to say one thing in private and do another when they are in a group setting amazes me. Of course, it doesn’t really take much to do that these days. I remember a time when a man’s word was his bond. He lived up to it no matter what. I still live by that moral code.
The only time it becomes an issue is when dealing with those who don’t. Those who can look you in the eye and tell you an untruth. I don’t know if they believe it or if they want to see how stupid I am. Perhaps the old adage of repeating a lie long enough and often enough does apply.
And then there are those times that you must lie. Situational facts. Somewhat a kin to Alternative Facts. A lie is no longer a lie. I just tell the truth as I see it. And yes my view is skewed.
So what is truth? The conclusion of the story, as told by more than one person of which somewhere between all the versions lies the truth. Absolute power corrupts.
