Louder Than Ever

You were there in the front seat
Windows down, we were burnin’
It was just like a movie scene
Those dashboard lights and your pale blue eyes
Cutting through me…

It is cool, foggy and clammy in midcoast Maine. I have the kitchen air conditioner running, just to knock down the humidity a notch or two. I have yet to install the upstairs a/c. I’m only up there at night.

I was awake at 4am. And sleep wouldn’t come back to rest. I got up, took a walk. It was misting. By the time I got back home I was quite damp. I love how fog and mist seems to dampen sound. I have become aware how freaking loud everything is all the time. By 7am I could hear the constant backup “beep beep beep” of construction vehicles putting in the ¼ mile road between SR24 and Admiral Fitch Ave. That project has been going on for two years. Two years to build a quarter mile road. Baffling.

The guys with the weed wackers were out in force. They make a lot of noise but don’t really seem to take down many weeds.
Tomorrow is Audrey’s birthday. And the first day of summer. Happy birthday, summer girl.

Why can’t I get you out of my heart? Those pale blue eyes cutting through me.

I am procrastinating. I am in week 4 of taking MFA-505 and MFA-507. I have two assignments due tonight by midnight. The classes are actually a lot of fun, once I open the web page. The problem remains in opening the page.

It is going to rain like hell here this afternoon. Good napping weather. Or doing writing assignments weather. Oh. The rain just arrived.

They raised my rent again. Now 1400 bucks a month. Waiting on a call back from Amber. She keeps sending me emails that don’t open. This place is slowly going to shit since Schott sold out to BLV. 1400. That is just shy of half of my income. Not happy about it, but don’t really want to live in my parent’s basement again. Just need to stay off Amazon Prime!

My Big Ben wall clock. The first “adult” purchase I ever made some 35 years ago finally ate it. It started losing 5 minutes an hour. I ordered a replacement wall clock from Amazon, which arrived today. I don’t really like the new clock. Probably off to Bed Bath and Beyond with me later. Funny thing is, once I put Big Ben on the kitchen table last night it started keeping time again.

I’m in a phone duel with my landlord. And fighting with my insurance company – trying to get proof of insurance, which should be pretty fucking easy.
Trying to not think about calling Audrey. It’s been too long.

How can I forget our love
Or the ways that you loved me…

How can I forget our love. Or the ways that you loved me?
