Sound advise or a cop-out? It may depend on the situation to which it is applied. To some of us, it may be a haunting reminder that we are going to be alone for the rest of our lives. If that is the case membership in the Lonely Hearts Club could be in order.
Not for the hopeless romantics! I am guessing this applies more to women. Men have that rugged exterior, I can do this by myself, I don’t need a woman telling me what to do. (and ladies I’m not saying you are not capable of providing for yourself)
I grew up with a different generation. Men were men and women were ladies. What happened? I may as well throw some gasoline on myself and light the match so here goes. Just my opinion, but it seems to me the women’s movement may have gone too far. To my female readers don’t shoot the messenger. I have no problem with equal pay, promoting qualified women in the workplace and the like. I just prefer to open the door for a woman, help her with her coat and chair, and never expect a woman to change her own flat tire. If that makes me a male chauvinist then so be it. And I prefer her to be soft and smell wonderful.
On the other extreme of this topic, I think men should help with the kids, the housework and all the other stuff. Maybe, just maybe, if we treated women with respect and love, and not as third world property, out divorce rates would drop. But then again, Que Sera Sera might have taken on a whole new meaning. Treat her like a Lady!!
