Are we born with it or do we develop it over time? I suppose the opinions on this subject will vary just as they do with the whole which came first the chicken or the egg. But since it’s my blog and my thoughts I get to control the discussion. Think of it as Government overreach or Government censorship. My blog, My Rules, don’t like it, don’t come to visit. Pretty simple if you ask me. But then there are those who feel it is there God given need to come along and start a fight—Common Sense or perhaps common courtesy be damned!
Dating, oh how it has changed. I have done my own research on dating in the 22nd century and I have come to my own conclusions. I took out a six-month subscription to E-harmony. My matches pretty much missed the mark every single time. (Sidebar, I work with computers on a daily basis, why would I trust one to find “true love”?—it’s a rhetorical question I think we all know the answer–Desperate, comes to mind.) The system even stopped matching my profile..until a week ago. My membership is set to expire in less than 30 days. Coincidence, I think not. It’s like the system knows they are going to lose my membership money so let’s throw this sucker fish a pretty shiny lure to get him to bite again.
Don’t get me wrong, Neil has countless testimonials from couples who have found each other on E-harmony. Statistics don’t lie. They can be manipulated, but they never lie. So we learn to skew the answers by asking the right questions. Let’s say, for instance, I am a beef producer. (Does that make me a bull? Maybe a cow?) I want to show the rest of the country that more people eat beef than pork. How will he do it? Simple, I do the survey in the states that have the highest concentration of Jews or Muslims. Why? Because I can take that data and prove my point. More people eat beef!
So back to the original question. Common Sense, are we born with it or do we develop it over time? In some cases, it is neither. Now let me go ponder this whole chicken or the egg thing.
