Another work week in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

Back to a normal work week, I hope. I was extremely busy all day and it promises to continue thru the week. Since it is the last week of the month (can you believe we're almost into March?) and since I was off with Dad last week except for 4hrs on Friday I have some major catching up.

Dad is doing good and getting around fine. He even drove to my house yesterday for supper of neck bones and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, corn, cottage cheese and some pickles. I had cooked the neck bones a couple of weekends ago and this Sunday seemed to be the best day to thaw them out and have them for supper. He seemed to really like the meal and so did I. I, however was awakened about 11:30 last night and made a couple of trips to the bathroom. I checked with him this evening and he escaped that little side affect.

My sister had called me on my way home from work this evening and apparently Dad has convinced himself that my brother and I WANT to put him in a nursing home. Oy Vay!! My sister spent over an hour trying to convince him differently but he was sure that is what we plan to do. There is a story behind this nursing home thing and HE is the one that wanted to check into information concerning the VA nursing home. The social worker at the hospital brought him an application, he told us he wanted more information, my brother made the call and got the info, and then wanted more info. Now this. Since my sister had given me the heads up, I went to check his meds tonight and told him that I didn't think we needed the VA application and was going to throw it away. He was relieved and told me that he thought that was what brother and I was wanting. I said, nooooo, YOU were wanting information on that nursing home and that is why they brought the application and brother called them about the questions he had. I have no clue if he has now decided that we don't want to put him in the nursing home, but we don't. HE mentioned that when and if the time comes that he can't care for himself then he wants to go to that nursing home. He is really getting frustrating and I do not believe it is going to get better. I may be in the looney bin before we ever have to deal with a nursing home for him.

So I'm finally dealing with his change of plans for his burial place when the time comes. I'm just going to continue thinking he can want what he wants and we'll do what we want. ;)

That's all for tonight. Take care and God Bless
