Lately I've been pretty bored. So bored that I usually just clean the house then sit and watch tv/surf pintrest all day long.

I currently lead an exciting life let me tell ya! rolls eyes

So - I've been thinking. It's time. Time for me to see if I can get to meet my 'new' local SCA group and put my sewing/embroidery skills to the test. Their rusty as all hell... but I think this can work!

Most of my friends from up north (apart from one special one - you know who you are) that I still communicate with (thank God for Facebook!) are from my time within the SCA. Those friendships were hard forged. Friends who helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life. I can tell you that without a thought I'd do the same for them - even still. It will kill two, well many, birds with one stone. It will allow me to get out and meet people AND get me crafting again. Woot!

So get your thinking caps on... I'm looking to make a 14th century Cotehardie or Felmish Kirtle. Complete with under-dress and over dress all with beautiful embroidery. Heck I may get adventurous and hand sew the thing - - - naaa - - - well maybe! This one could be good - enter image description here This one to - absolutely great work! http://www.flickr.com/photos/esmolnyakova/9135031289/in/photostream/

The cotehardie's vary but here is an example for you http://www.flickr.com/photos/katafalk/7908297330/

I'm open to suggestions of embroidery.. share away peoples of the interwebs. I'll be so happy to look at them!
