President's Day. Dad to ER. ER hospital transferred him to VA Hospital. Antibiotics at both places. He has pneumonia in his left lung. Had the tremors really bad on Monday AM when I got to his house. STL cousin had come to visit him on Sunday afternoon and called me on Monday AM to tell me he wasn't doing well at all. Dad wanted us to just take him to ER, but he wasn't strong enough to stand on his own so I called 911 as we didn't want him to fall trying to get him to the vehicle.
Ambulance arrived in abt 20 minutes, checked him out and loaded him in the ambulance. We told them how to hit the highway by going up the hill to the hiway. I had just taken Jacob to work up that hill a couple of hours prior to that time frame. We had gotten rain on the way and the temps were below freezing AND the hill still had some ice remaining from the snow we received a couple of weeks ago. Long story short, the ambulance slide sideways on the first little hill. Cousin and I were following and it was a scary site for us and ride for them in the ambulance. The rear end of the rig was too close to the edge to take any chances AND the ice covered road was slick as snot. Fire department was called and while waiting for them I came home to get my ice melt and kitty litter to take back to them. By the time we got back the fireman who came to help in his car had slid off backwards off the hill in front of the ambulance. Another ambulance was called to come to transport dad, more fireman were called, the county workers and the State Hwypatrol. Everyone arrived and they rolled dad on the gurney from the sideways ambulance to the newly arrived ambulance at the bottom of the hill.
The same ambulance crew that was in the 2d ambulance were the ones who transported him from the ER hospital to the VA hospital on Monday evening. And that my dear readers was a Monday for the record book!!
Dad is doing better but will have a scope run down into his stomach this morning to see if he has any bleeding since he had a black stool yesterday AM. Prayers appreciated.
God Bless
