My guitar. (Washburn usm-xm 120 pro c) I’ve had it a while and they’re impossible to find these days! I haven’t been able to play in years because of illness and injuries; hell… I can’t even lift it at the moment, but it reminds me of the best years of my life back in college and years afterwards when I was in band. Right now it’s a mental thing just looking at it.
National Disability Day
I went decades without health insurance and in doing so I couldn’t care for myself medically as needed. Disease and illness took over and although I never considered myself ‘disabled’, for a very long time I have been, but as ‘dad’s‘ would say: “I just walked it off”.
I never applied for disability because I’m the sort of person that puts others before myself and I didn’t want to take that away from someone else in need. I never really understood disability until the last few years when I’ve spent more time in hospitals than at home, in more pain than feeling well and not only unable to work, but unable to enjoy any aspect of life. I can’t even dress myself.
Now, I’m applying for disability because there’s no denying that I am that person in need. It will take months to see if I’m approved. National Disability Day has a whole new meaning for me.

I hope you have more success than me then - I'm still trying to get approved. You have to jump through 5000 hoops to get anywhere with it over here.

Same here, 5000 hoops. If a comma is in the wrong place or you don't dot an 'I' you get denied.
The government will do everything not to help you.

Seems to be the same the world over - they throw money at the scammers and those who need it lie in desperate need and poverty. Something far wrong with that picture.

Dude we are so the same about getting on disability sigh so is my son. He is now looking into getting on I have been told that I would have to divorce my husband in order to apply for it, and that is something atm that we refuse to do.
Your pug is freaking adorable amazing how our pets know when we need them.

That's ridiculous!
I had a phone interview with them yesterday. I've applied before and been turned down, but I do have 2 things going for me atm...
I just medicaid. That's important apparently as it shows need and an inability to pay.
I have a tremendous amount of Paperwork etc... With several Dr's, hospitals etc... The last few years up to current, but we'll see in a few months if any of that even means anything.
They do want me to see a shrink for my depression. I don't want to, I know way more than they do. I can talk circles around them, but if it's a matter of... This is what it takes, I'll do it begrudgingly.
