So tomorrow we will be going to Oma's house. Finally. The original plan was to go weeks ago but then it got cold, and then it stayed cold. I'll finally make the cake Saturday. So it won't be a surprise.
Hopefully, starting from the next week my reading will go on a lot better and I won't have as many distractions.
As I was uploading my old Open Diary I noticed that I talked a lot more about the books I read in them than I do now. Though I guess that makes sense because it is a lot easier to discuss fiction books. Now I'm not sure whether I'll go back to reading them. Maybe I should just stick with non-fiction for a while and see how it goes. They are less emotionally exhausting.
After my current biography - Caesar: Life of a Colossus - I think I'll read a biography of Rasputin. After that it will probably be a biography of Peter the Great.
My Christian reading is not going so well. The thing about Stromata is that it's so... miscellaneous. Though, perhaps I should just stop whining. Sometimes I just don't see a point to this all. Perhaps, taking the big picture in mind here, I bit off far more than I could chew. Though it would be embarrassing to quit here and I watch my christian book shelf at Goodreads remain permanently stagnant as a constant reminder of my failure.
Also my German is going just GREAT, I'm totally not being a slacker and hoping the language will just magically materialize in my brain one day, that I'll just wake up one morning and BAM I'll just know German. Failing... to nowhere.
As you can see, dearest of diaries, things are in a dark phase right now.
