Kayla and Timmy had their last day of regular classes on Monday. The exam period started on Tuesday. They took the Global Studies exam in early June, when regular classes were still going on. This week they took the Mathematics 10 and Living Environment exams (it used to be called biology when we old folks were in school.) Today was Rating Day, and they did not have any exams. On Monday, they have their English and Spanish exams. Aaron’s last day of school is Wednesday. He has a half day on Wednesday. In the words of the much-covered song, summer vacation is so close, yet so far away.

This weekend the kids are studying during the day and I am catching up on work. We will spend the evenings just chilling out and watching movies. The kids are running in a 5K race tonight and then we will go out for dinner.

This summer we are planning to take a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and to the beach in Rhode Island. Otherwise we don’t have a lot of plans yet. There is a new pool nearby that just opened this summer. It is supposed to be very nice and I am eager to check it out. The weather has not really been hot enough to warm up the water. I am thinking this coming week will be warm enough for swimming.
