Every now and again a song comes along that my initial reaction differs greatly from my feelings after some admittedly obsessive repetition.

This is one of them, my first thought was it was a rather uplifting song about a guy who’d been through some shit and found himself with a woman that made him feel complete finally.

Then you hit that last verse, and what I see there is that guy we spoke of finally finding that lady and being too far gone to be able to be what she needs.

The story here is good man can’t find a good woman, good woman finds this man and he’s just too far gone to be good for her.
