Funny how the shutdown of OD has affected folks.

I, like many of my old friends, slid over here as a way to stay in contact and continue to write. As a result I have actually run into a bunch of old friends who for whatever reason I had lost touch with. I wrote on OD regularly from 1998 until 2010ish or so before tapering off of late.

Needless to say I have more than a few..."whatever happened to" types. It's been pretty neato to recognize some old friendly names and reconnect. It's amazing when I look back and remember how many folks I have met over the years either here in the digital realm and in real life.

Reading back there is most of my lifetime in that old diary. CW and I have been divorced for many years now but still remain friendly and cordial. We are both still very much mom and ads to the kids.

My boys who some of you knew as toddlers (or even before when I had just 1) are now 17 and 15. The oldest, all 6' 3 of him, graduates from high school this June.

To all my "old" friends welcome back. I'm a bit older, a whole lot grayer, and a whole lot more sedate than I once was. It's not a bad thing, life is good. Coining a phrase from H my sin wagon is pretty much parked these days. It's always a thought and an option - I just find myself with little time and motivation.

Things have reset and I have a new normal. A beautiful wife, 2 fabo step kids and a family dynamic that is as good as it gets. Challenging yes with the 4 teens but I am very happy and comfortable.

The business that we ( my father, my wife and I ) established about 3 years ago has started to take off and climb into the black. Between the business and 4 sports hyperactive kids I don't have time for much else but I am good with that. If I'm not at a kids sporting event I am at work. Baseball, basketball, gymnastics, lacrosse, soccer and wrestling are all on the household spots menu.

Hopefully this new space will prosper and become as comfortable as OD once was. For me quite frankly FB or twitter more fits into my attention span these days. Feel free to shoot me a note if you want to follow me on those networks. I will see if I can work writing more into my routine but make no promises.
