New Year, let's go! in It's a Suhaila!

I’m delaying doing as much studies as I can at the moment, as my lovely sister is still around on her break from university and I’m trying to enjoy as much time with her as I can. If all goes to plan, she should complete her MSc this year, and I’m somewhat selfishly hoping she’ll come home.

It’s getting to the point now when I have to think more about supporting Jasmine - I can’t keep relying on child benefit payments and help from my parents for ever. The beauty with Open University is that I can choose my own study hours so getting a part time job for a few mornings a week would give me some welcome cash as well as allowng me to work towards becoming Suhaila BSc.

I told Salena about Jasmine’s comment of “funny noises” (see a few entries back!) which made he laigh, and she said that her bed making funny noises at university wasn’t unusual too. She’s a bit more liberal than me but as she said to me as long as no-one gets hurt and you’re both having fun then so what! On the sbject of funny noises, that’s not been possible for the last few weeks as Jasmine has to come back in to my room when Salena is home from university… until last night when I stayed over at Scott’s. First time in 3 weeks, and I really needed it. Felt really happy after.

Until we tuned on the news and saw that the university in my city was on fire!! Turned out to be a building under refurbishment but the library which was next door had to be evacuated - many students were back early and studying for exams, and had to leave everything there and get clear.

So, 2018 - let’s see what you bring. Hopefully my sister’s MSc, my second year of Open University, and blessings for Scott and Jasmine.
