First day back to school from winter break. It was a long day, between school and work. C had his last night shift last night, he got home at 7 am, an hour later than usual. I was gone by the time he got home. As per usual, talking to D was the best part of my day. He’s such a sweetheart and he’s so goddamn cute. My best friend, S, is super supportive about my mixed and confusing relationship woth C and D, and she (usually) tolerates me groping her. I’m gonna miss her when I leave. Hopefully she’ll come over on my birthday. It’s been a while since we hung out outside of school.
D seems to have had a good day. I hope he did. He sleeps best when he falls asleep on the phone with me, so, naturally, we call every night.

Tonight’s poem is not a handwritten. Happy Ending by Shel Silverstein

“There are no happy endings.
Endings are the saddest part,
So just give me a happy middle
And a very happy start.”
