Heart and Soul in General

So that song came out in ‘87. I was 25. My son was on the way. I was a testosterone factory. That video made me horny as can be imagined.

Life has a way of moving along.

That video still makes me kinda horny.

I must confess this time of year is not my favorite. A snowstorm every other day. The driveway iced over. We now have a gap between the storms for Christmas eve.

I love Christmas, but the practical aspects sometimes get me down.

I get up in the morning and make a monster lasagna. The marinara is in the fridge. The cheese is stacked up in order. The meat is in the front of the fridge so I can bring it up to room temperature before making the meat sauce and then stacking the lasagna.

Half done in my oven, then half done in my ‘folks oven.

Sometime between 215 and 230 tomorrow I will pick up the bean and head up the road.

Usually we do a Christmas eve dinner, then do a late morning Christmas day get together. My folks have already cooked the turkey.

But the weather is going to go to shit on Monday.

I am exhausted. And I know that is because it is always dark this time of year. The older you get the less bounce you have when it come to circadian rhythms. I keep the lights on. I actually set up a Christmas tree this year. I double my vitamin D intake.

Comically, I have actually thought of setting up a chair in the entryway, so I can sit in the sun on sunny days.

The weather is supposed to get better, if colder on Tuesday. I am tentatively scheduled to go flying in the morning. But I have no confirmation.

Like I told my dad today, if Tuesday doesn’t pan out I am going to wait until the New Year then go sit on Marissa’s desk until they start scheduling me.

That was kind of all over the map, wasn’t it?
