Just couldn't wait so re-watched The NeverEnding Story yesterday. It was goose-bump inducing. I forgot how creepy it could be. Especially at the end when the Childlike Empress talked about how Bastian himself was part of a story watched by others. They don't make children's movies like that anymore. So in the book I'm roughly in the middle. I'm gonna be honest I'm getting a bit bored with the story. I mean the first half had the whole the Nothing is spreading, need to find the cure for the Childlike Empress, thing going for it but now... now it's just Bastian running around aimlessly. What is the point now? We'll see.
I feel like my German is becoming better. Like simple, uncomplicated sentences make sense and you get that joy, as if finishing a puzzle, after you discovered the meaning of the words. It's all just riddles at this point.
Also, if I had to compile a list of movies that I saw in 2013 and that I liked the best (and by saw in 2013 I mean the second half of the year when started to go to the movies again) it would (in alphabetical order) be:
- Blue Jasmine
- The Conjuring
- Gravity
- Le Week-End
- Prisoners
Honorable mentions: Captain Phillips, The Counselor, Rush. They had their good moments but ultimately missed the mark. Pain & Gain would be an un-honorable mention as movie you know is bad but just can't help to like.
