So today I finished reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It turned out to be a really great book. In a certain sense it is prophetic in how we in today's culture try to eliminate all Unpleasantness. The end result in Huxley's book is that almost the entire human race consists of children who know only what their told with no true knowledge about anything. All for the good of everyone and no-one. Also I will have to look into the science of the book.

Tomorrow I will start reading On Writing by Stephen King. We will see how that goes. Also I have decided that this weekend I will make another cake. The complaint about the previous one was that it was too sweet.

Later during the day I continued reading The Confessions by Augustine of Hippo. Today I finished the second book. In it he talked about his youth. Those passages really affected me.

"It was foul, and I loved it. I loved to perish. I loved my own error— not that for which I erred, but the error itself. Base soul, falling from Your firmament to utter destruction— not seeking anything through the shame but the shame itself!" Book II, Chapter 4
