Tequila kids… it’s good for what ails ya!

Surprisingly, Tequila does have many health benefits (in moderation) and particularly intriguing for those with IBD, such as Ulcerative Colitis (which is currently killing me).

But I digress, let’s talk liquor.

It has Probiotics. The agave that tequila is derived from contains fructans, a short-chain polymer that supplies probiotics — beneficial bacteria found in the intestines. Thus, drinking a small amount of tequila may benefit digestive health.

It also contain “Prebiotics”; which creates a living space for the probiotics. In other words, they help make the intestines a more friendly environment for healthy bacteria to thrive.

Tequila can help you lose weight. If you can manage to drink a controlled amount of tequila you can benefit from the weight-loss properties of agavins, which are a particular kind of sugar in tequila. Not be confused with agave nectar, agavins have a less refined molecular structure which doesn’t raise the blood sugar levels. As a result, many of the calories pass through the system unused as opposed to other alcohol sugars, which are not so glycemic index friendly. It also stimulates the metabolism and helps to dissolve fats.

Taking a shot of tequila after a meal has been linked to aiding digestion as well. Some suggest a shot before a meal to rev up your metabolism and appetite, and then a shot after to soothe and assist digestion.

It may help fight osteoporosis. Thank you agavins! Taking a shot of tequila after a meal has been linked to aiding digestion as well. Some suggest a shot before a meal to rev up your metabolism and appetite, and then a shot after to soothe and assist digestion.

It may help fight type 2 diabetes. As the fructans being non-digestible, acts as fiber. By passing through the body undigested, it avoids the dangerous blood sugar spike as well as stimulates insulin production.

It may lower chances of developing dementia. There are some studies in which is shown that people who drink moderate amounts of tequila are having lower chances of developing dementia later in their life.

It helps curb insomnia. Tequila has relaxing benefits which can help you to calm your nerves and also it can aid in inducing sleep for the deprived.

It helps necessary drugs make it to the colon. People who suffer from diseases that are affecting their digestive systems such as colitis, IBS, Crohn’s disease, might be getting a boost from the fructans in the tequila as it contains natural chemical carriers which protect the necessary drugs so they can get past the stomach acid and to the colon where they are needed. Scientists are trying to discover how to use these fructans in prescription drugs for the mentioned diseases.

For those that know what I’m going through: My Story I may have just found a cure! lol. Of course that’s not true, but if I had the strength… I know I have some Patron xo cafe’ around here somewhere…

Coffee infused tequila - my fav!

They used to say that an apple a day… but now it seems a shot of tequila may keep the Dr. away.

DePhoMo - METAL OR FIRE

METAL

Years ago when I was working at an 8000 sq ft haunted house. The chain link fence behind me was electrified and I’d whip that steel chain and drag that iron pipe across it which sparked furiously!

There’s only 1 thing more metal than Dee Snider of Twisted Sister!!!

A picture of me with Dee Snider of Twisted Sister. (This was the first time I met him).

FIRE

I was the 1st Assistant Director & SFX Supervisor on the Christian Comedy film “Highway to Hell”. This metal flame piece was specially made for the film. No, I did not make it.

Fire effects used in this promo shot I took for one of the characters of the sold out transmedia vampire production “The Trial of Lucious”.

My Niece on Halloween. Check out my mad scissor and crayon skills!!!
