1/9/2012 Saturday in 2012

So today I continued re-reading The Fellowship of the Rings (well, since Tolkien meant the Lord of the Rings as one book Part I would be more accurate). Finished Chapter 5 where they finally leave Moria. Tomorrow I will finish it. I have grown to love this book with a rabid fanaticism even though I loved the movie first. I'll have to re-watch them sometime later. Also recently I decided that they are two different entities that cannot be compared. The movies differ very greatly from Tolkien's book in their tone so they are more like Jackson's version rather than his adaptation. So far the Prancing Pony is the most telling example - in the book it's this jolly old inn, in the movie it is like this dark pub full with strange people where the hobbits realize how far from home they are. There's more seriousness about the movies. Anyway, today I didn't do much else. Like I hoped today was cloudy and at times rainy so no disturbing noises. Hopefully it will be the same tomorrow so I can finish the book in peace. When I called her today she said the cake was very good. She said that they had cloudy weather too but no rain so they managed to dig up all the potatoes. Tomorrow they will be back. When I asked at what time they will leave she said she didn't know because she had to ask the others. Probably during the afternoon is what she said. Didn't do nothing much today. Played a bit of Minecraft.
