Day 6 of 12 in my miserable existence. The weather today was bad, very bad. Right from the very morning it was cold and rainy and as the day passed it didn’t get any better. So that being so putting the new windows in was out of the question. So now it’s been put off till tomorrow. Of course it can’t be done tomorrow either what with it being August 15th, a holy day and everything when no work can be done. So Thursday it is. Now I’m thinking that it would be really “funny” if starting with Thursday every single day would be God awful and so since next Tuesday when we are finally leaving. That would be very “entertaining”. Anyway today I began reading Down and Out in Paris and London. Despite the serious subject it’s actually a quite funny book. It’s that kind of “out of life” humor that really gets one because it’s very difficult to make it up. So due to the weather conditions nothing important was done, they made the marinated green tomatoes and that’s basically it. We played cards today. Twice I lost with an ace trump in my hands. I didn’t think that such a thing was possible but there you go. It seems at times you have a some good cards and some crap that’s loosing you the game. But then again it might be because I changed the rules of the game. I created a harsher environment where one must always give because you yourself will not be spared. Or maybe I’m just imagining things.
