So it's B-Day. Well whoop-ti-doo another year has passed and we are still on this earth and nothing has changed. Well, maybe not nothing. Anyway some time before she told me that she would get me a new computer chair for my birthday but that it would be only after the event do to money issues. But then I woke up this morning and what do I see. A brand new computer chair, the sort of 'boss' chair that I always kinda wanted. My first thought that that whole "You'll get it later" thing was a trick to make me be surprised but she said it wasn't. I didn't get a clear answer as to why my present was on time. And of course, as she told me, the first to try the new chair was Elisa. She said she got in there after they put it there. Hopefully she won't scratch her nails on this one.
So today I finished reading Crank by Ellen Hopkins. It's not a very long book, in fact I could have finished it one day. Wrote a review of it on goodreads.com but it was not very long and I didn't have a lot to say. Tomorrow I'll start reading the next book in the trilogy - Glass. That should also be finished in 2 days though it is a lot longer, but that's not saying much seeing how Crank with it's 37K words is straight in novella land.
So I had a cooking idea for today but we didn't have any white bread so I didn't make them anything today. When they came back she of course had Oma on the phone. I think one day we will have to have a talk about why I always keep my phone turned off. Yeah, like that's gonna happen. Also she said that Didzis called her... I wish he'd just be consistent. Anyway we had the cake today, she even asked did I leave them anything while I called her to tell her to buy the bread. This morning I had an idea of maybe taking a piece but decided it would be in bad form. So I was already kinda full so I ate just one piece but if I wasn't I would have eaten more because it was really good. A lot better than the whipped cream one at Midsummer. I don't really like whipped cream cakes but this one is something I could really enjoy because she made the cream from butter and condensed milk. A lot better recipe in my opinion.
