Aloha…
This is another update from Brookings:
200,000 acres burned… 1,600 firefighters on the line…
The fire is now at 94% containment thanks to rain and the diligent work of firefighters… Can’t say enough good things about these valiant men and women - they do the “boots on the ground” work necessary every day…
Impressed, to say the least…!
There are no more evacuation warnings in Curry County… The mood of the town is jubilant and thankful…
This was a very close call and some did lose homes and property, sadly - but it could have been so much worse…
Feeling grateful…!

I'm so glad you're safe, and that your home is safe. I've always been horrified at how quickly forest fires move, seeing them in Jackson,WY, while I was up there, shook me. I realized what an amazing job the fire fighters did, and how it truly impacted the people that lived in the area.

Glad you are safe. The fires have not made the news they should because of the hurricanes.
