Thanksgiving Eve Day in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

I’ve been up since 3:45 this morning due to some “wake me up” pain going down my left leg. Think it’s the sciatic nerve again. Not to mention it is the day before Thanksgiving and I have things to do before tomorrow.

The best news of all is that Dad will be here. Brother and SIL had gone to see him Sunday evening around 6:30 but his lights were out and he was in bed so he didn’t want to wake him. Sister hadn’t had a chance to see him over the weekend and I needed to know if he was still as confused as he had been last week. I did call and was told he was doing much better, but I needed to see what “much better” meant. Really meant. I left with things I had been in the middle of, in the middle and headed up with prayers that he would be better. Lo and behold he was better and his cell phone charger and razor that had been missing last week were all back in their places. I did work on the head of the razor and finally got one of the “cutter” wheels back in place. THAT took me some time since I have never used an electric razor.

We carried on a conversation that made me so very happy and I shared my happiness and relief with both sister and brother.

Unless brother or sister volunteer between now and in the AM I will head to the nursing to pick dad up and hope to be back home by 10 to continue getting my part of the dinner ready. I will cook the turkey and dressing, fix white and sweet potatoes, cream corn, and I made the cranberry salad yesterday evening. O is here with me so he and I will set up the big heavy duty table and put the table clothes on the tables, set up the chairs, etc etc to reduce what needs to be done in the AM. I don’t have anything for center pieces for either table and didn’t care before but now I had a couple of things. I could create something but it’s too late and I really don’t have the time. I did drill a hole in a wine bottle that I etched with Thanksgiving things and will add the battery operated lights to it some time today.

My plan is to vacuum the LR and hall, sweep the kitchen and utility room and maybe to a quick mop with my steam mop. I made two new pads for it a couple of weeks ago so it will do a good job and honestly the floors would be ok if I don’t get time to mop or just run out of steam. heh heh

I cleaned out the fridge in the kitchen yesterday so am ready for whatever needs to be in there. I will put the stuffing all together this evening and cook it tomorrow. Same with the turkey; I will have it ready to put in the oven at 6ish in the morning and it should be done by 11. Brother is bringing a smoked ham and SIL and niece will bring sides of green bean casserole, veggie tray, and a dessert.

A is fixing pecan, pumpkin, and choc pie and maybe a cream cheese dessert. Sister is bringing a pea salad, broccoli rice casserole, and rolls. I made a gallon of un-sweet tea which is in the fridge and will make koolaid later today. Coffee, water, and milk will also be available. Yum! I love the Thanksgiving traditional meal of any meal I partake in throughout a year.

May take a nap very soon and that is probably a good thing.

Take care and God Bless and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Glad your Dad is doing well and that your sibs are so supportive and helpful. Try not to overdo, but I know...I'm just as busy! Happy Thanksgiving!
