What are three things you do well?

Cooking! My mom always says she’s not sure how I became such a good cook, because she sure didn’t teach me. And it’s true. My mom was a very busy mom. She took care of me and my two sisters and most of the time was working at the same time. My older sister, as some of you know, was completely handicapped. So it was pretty much like having an infant 24/7, so she was extra busy. We ate most things out of cans or frozen. I survived, so you have to do what you have to do. I think about 2-3 years after Bobby and I were married I started looking at some recipe books and really trying out some new things. I , for the most part, enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes!

Finding bargains! I am pretty damn good at this. I know where to go and when to get the best prices on things. I very rarely impulse buy anything if I know it will go on sale soon. My kids have totally picked up on this too and are pretty frugal. They love thrift shopping and garage sale-ing. They love to see their dollar stretch!

Finding resources. For example, when we moved here - I was able to find everything we needed. Doctors, dentist, our homeschool co-op, programs, church, ect. I’m an expert googler. ha. I have a friend that said she couldn’t find a homeschool co-op here at all, and I found ours within minutes. It comes in handy, especially with how much we move around.

Our forecast is calling for abundant sunshine. YAY!! I swear we haven’t seen the sun in what seems like forever. It has been dreary, rainy, foggy, and so cloudy. The temps HAVE been warmer, but it doesn’t really help much if there is no sun.

Friday, we’re supposed to get up to almost 70!!! I can’t wait! It will be perfect weather for our co-op Fall party!

Yesterday, we headed out early so I could stop at Aldi’s before Dakota was to meet at Dillon’s for social group. I got most of what I needed there, then we went to Dillon’s.

Dakota was meeting up with his social group and therapists so they could shop for their Thanksgiving dinner they’re having next week. I’m excited for him and I love that they teach them these life lessons. So as he was doing that, Juliet, Sawyer, and I got the rest of what I needed. I also picked Dakota up a $20 STEAM gift card for the last of his birthday presents. Anytime I give him cash for something, he ends up using it on there to buy a game anyways.

Dakota got invited to one of the boys in his group’s birthday party. Unfortunately, it’s this Saturday and he’ll be at OASIS. So, that kind of stinks but I’m sure he’ll have a ton of fun regardless.

He’s definitely excited about OASIS. I drop him off at 6:30 on Friday evening. They go to a Christian concert that night until about 10. Then they come back to church and sleep. Breakfast in the morning, then they have a bunch of workshops/classes at the college. I pick him back up at 7pm on Saturday. I love that he’s able to be independent and go do things like this and the fact that it’s such a positive thing for him.

I’m not sure if we’ll do anything with the younger two while he’s gone. Saturday I have to pick up my baskets, then I plan to hit WalMart early to do my Thanksgiving shopping so that is mostly done. Hopefully, I can get it all done in one trip so I don’t have to keep going back for this or that.

Anyways, I’m just rambling. I need to make breakfast and get everyone up!
