Well the hybrid storm rolled up the coast. Clobbered New England. Other than a 24 hour power loss you wouldn’t know anything had happened. No trees down, no branches in the road.

Here.

A little further inland was a different story. Trees down everywhere, power lines down everywhere. My folks just got power back. My sister still doesn’t have power. In a state that has 1.7M year round residents, there are 400K residences without power.

If you do the math, you quickly recognize that pretty much the entire state lost power.

Last night I actually went so far as to start trying to find a generator, just to be able to run the microwave, fridge and TV/cablebox. That was a silly effort.

I got pretty bored reading books. I blasted through a novel and a biography by 2PM.

This time of year the sun seems to started heading toward the horizon at about 3PM. Once it was dark I lit a few candles. I really need to buy some unscented candles. Whew! Those red candles gave me a headache, and I don’t do headaches.

Most towns actually postponed Halloween until Friday. I bought plenty of candy - the good stuff. I don’t buy crappy candy for Halloween.

Not sure I am going to be here Friday night. Old Port, or maybe the strip joint. Early to bed, early to rise. I am going flying Saturday morning.
