Blinded.

Blinded.
The only word fit
For my weary heart.
Blinded.
Stomach wrenching from it;
Incidental, tho’ I’m smart.

Too few words frighten
Like the losses from the pain –
Too few lives crossing
This soul I’ve seen slain.

Blinding Aelena,
How, I will not know;
Sinking further into regress
To leave, I cannot go.

Restless and medicated,
Sleep haunts me in the night –
Blasphemous and premeditated
Is my lossless oversight.

Self-inflicted till I grow old
Bringing blankness to my stare;
Less afflicted in this mold
Pain’s left me cold and bare.

Blinded by the sunlight
Still beating in the night –
Softened by the firelight,
My core still longs to be childlike.
