Setting West

Still on fire
From the faces of you.
All the wounds still bleed
And still drowning, disapproved.

How much longer
Until I know?
When will we ever
Be able to grow?

Insignificance, I still feel
Breaching the only heart I yield.
Denial still fused deep
As I long to be relieved.

Strange and unrefined
My dreams still fuzzed by clouds.
The color is fading
And the silence is growing louder.

Last year the images were vibrant
And 10 years past since they were new.
I’m slowly losing this grip,
Fretfully leaving a shadow of you.

Shrinking downward
Tasting the stale lament,
Now left only misfortune
Flustered by a torturous glint.

Iced are the feelings left
And blinded by looking west;
The setting sun darkens my hope
On the one still branded best.
