If I Ever

If I ever
Run out of words
To make you blush,
If I ever
Run out of words
And become hushed,
Pick up my phrases
And take me back to the ocean.

If I ever
Run out of words
To describe the setting sun,
If I ever
Run out of words
To remind you you’re the one,
Swing the pendulum
And start the motion.

If my language becomes forked
And I can’t speak,
Be the voice of my heart
Hiding what is weak.
