Passing By You

I used to wonder
How to take my heart
And turn it under.

I used to dream
How I’d feel
If you were pulled from me.

I didn’t think
You’d ever be gone from me –
But now, lost forever in a blink.

I’m still standing
Even though the ground still shrinks.
I’m still praying
That maybe this was all a dream.

With your passing
Makes me question
What I’ve done
To deserve this awful fate.

The loss of you
Haunts me –
I lose the very breath
I need to live.

Can we share a breath again?
Just one more to feel your warmth?
One more time to savor
The feeling of you, my life-long friend?

*Note:
This was based on the following note from a few days ago.
I don’t know their name but the theme is something universal.

Here’s the note:
you are so talented. since you take requests, I have one…
i dont have a diary here, but my fiance recently had an
accident and passed away. i wake up some days and can’t
breathe. i dont
know how i am going to make it without
him. Anyway, could you write a poem about this? it would be
comforting…thanks so much. : ) [Anonymous Noter]
